Jeff Carroll

Jeff Carroll is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Bowling Green State University. Carroll earned his B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science from The Ohio State University, his M.A. in Philosophy from Georgia State University, and his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Virginia. Carroll's research revolves around the intersection between politics, philosophy, and economics, and issues of theorizing justice and democracy. Carroll's research has appeared in The Journal of Politics, Social Theory and Practice, Res Publica, Erasmus Journal of Philosophy and Economics, The Independent Review, and the HEC Forum. Carrroll has also published various book reviews on The Ethics of Capitalism by Daniel Halliday and John Thrasher, On Justice by Mathias Risse, and Libertarianism by Eric Mack. Carroll has also given numerous presentations for the PPE Society, the The Association for Private Enterprise Education, the Institute for Humane Studies Graduate Conference, among more. Carroll was the Hilliard Family Jefferson Fellow at the University of Virginia, an Adam Smith Fellow at the Mercatus Center in 2017-2018, 2018-2019, and 2019-2020, and the Charlotte Colby Danly Fellow at The Institute for Humane Studies where he was awarded a Humane Studies Fellowship in 2018-2019 and was the Bernard Marcus Fellow in 2019-2020.
